SUMMARY:Fabulous Fahnestock
DESCRIPTION:On Saturday\, August 16\, at 6:30 a.m.\, meet at 75 Mountain Laurel Lane\, Cold Spring\, NY\, at Fahnestock State Park\, and run one of the Fabulous Fahnestock Trail Race distances—50k\, 25k\, or 5.5m. You will climb up long hills\, run past lakes and ponds\, enjoy flowy descents on some of the best single track the area has to offer\, then meander along old dirt roads and abandoned rail beds. Choose a distance that works best for you! Generous Cut Offs and Multiple full service aid stations are all meant to ensure your success! Relax post-race pond side with fellow trail runners and experience the true taste of the trail running community and local organic fare. 6:30: 50k start; 7:00: 25k start; 7:30: 5.5mi start. \nNot looking to race? Then come join us as Sunday Runs hosts aid station #2—Sunken Mine. We’ll be manning the site from 7:00 a.m. until 12:00 and then will head over to the finish to watch our friends finish the race. Park at the Sunken Mine trailhead and hike the 2 miles in or catch a ride with us at 7:00. Do not drive to the aid station directly! There is no parking. If you are available to work part time\, please let me know and we can take shifts. \n \n\nWant to stay closer to home? Meet at Ward Pound Ridge Reservation\, Michigan Road lot\, at 7:00 a.m. and run the “Red Plus” loop. It’s just like Red plus a bit more. But bring your own maps\, I’ll be at Fahnestock. \n\nPrint Map Download the PDF

SUMMARY:Dancing Rock 50k
DESCRIPTION:On Sunday\, December 21\, at 5:00 a.m.\, get ready to run a very special course—The Dancing Rock Run and Dancing Rock 50k. This course revives a race created by Tony Godino and Dave Cope around the time the Loop was invented but adds a whole lot more. 50k runners will first complete a perimeter loop\, then run the Dancing Rock 12.5k forwards\, then backward\, and follow up with the marked loop of Green+. The 12.5k “classic” starts at 8:00 and makes one loop of the course. Or make it a double for a 25k run. classic Dancing Rock Run 7.8 miler. \nStage 1: Perimeter Loop Starts Promptly at 5:00 a.m. \nComplete perimeter loop as shown on the map\, approximately 12 miles\, and return to your vehicle which will serve as your aid station. You do not need to wait for the main group—continue onto stage 2 when you’re ready. Everyone is responsible for their own aid at their vehicles. Note that the perimeter loop will be counterclockwise this year. \nStage 2: Start the Dancing Rock 12.5k course clockwise.\nRun the Dancing Rock 12.5k Course. Legacy GPX and Legacy KML files for this section are posted to help you navigate. I will drop a book at Dancing Rock on the morning of the run. Runners\, tear out the next page in the book as proof you’ve made it to that point and bring it to me or send a photo. \nStage 3: Reverse direction on the Dancing Rock 12.5k course\nRun the Classic Dancing Rock Course in the reverse direction following all flags and bushwhack. Tear a second page from the book at Raven Rocks \nStage 4: Complete the final loop\nComplete the final loop of the course heading up Green and around\, finally ending through the swamp trail. \nThis is not a race. There are no prizes. The winner only gets bragging rights ad some great memories. Bring a change of clothes to keep warm and hang out after the run anyway. Note: the trail near Michigan Road (often called the “Swamp Trail”) now passable. You’ll get your shoes wet and muddy\, but that trail earns its name. \nYou can view and print the Classic 12k map here ›› \n\nPrint 2024 Map Download 2024 PDF Print Legacy Map Legacy PDF Legacy KML File Legacy GPX File

SUMMARY:Dancing Rock 12.5k / 25k
DESCRIPTION:On Sunday\, December 21\, at 8:00 a.m.\, get ready to run a very special course—The Dancing Rock Run. This course revives a race created by Tony Godino and Dave Cope around the time the Loop was invented over 30 years ago. Originally\, racers would complete one clockwise loop followed by a counterclockwise loop for a total distance of 25k. No one really knows why the race never caught on but it’s an awesome course. Start at 8:00 a.m. and complete one 12.5k loop (the 8 mile orange loop in the map) or make it a double for a 25k run. Note: the trail near Michigan Road (often called the “Swamp Trail”) is passable. You might get your shoes wet and muddy though. \n\nRookie Runners start at 7:00 for a shorter course and an easier pace. I am not planning on running this Sunday but I’m sure others will be happy to. Walkers/Hikers start at 8:00 on a short course of around 4 miles. \n\nPrint 2024 Map 2024 PDF Print Legacy Map Legacy PDF Legacy KML File Legacy GPX File
