This course offers distances of 5\, 7\, and 8.5 miles and takes us off the reservation into two small preserves to the west of the park. The out-and-back nature of this gives you plenty of choices to customize distance including returning through the BRLA trail off Honey Hollow Road. Since the water level in the reservoir is so low\, you might want to run from Armstrong to the water and take in the sight. SUMMARY:Michigan 4x8 Challenge
DESCRIPTION:On Saturday\, January 4\, at 7:00 a.m.\, meet at Ward Pound Ridge Reservation\, Michigan Road Lot\, ready to run the Michigan 4×8 Challenge. The entire Challenge starts at 6:00 a.m. but you can start whenever you want\, including 7:00 a.m.\, and run as far as you’d like. This course consists of a series of 4-mile (approximate) clockwise loops in the Rez that can be completed within an hour. At 6:00 a.m.\, we’ll start with the green loop\, then work our way in a clockwise pattern hitting the yellow and then blue loops next. Total distance would be just over 50k so if you’re looking for distance\, this is a great run for you. Early Risers start at 6:00 for the green loop. \n\nPrint Map

SUMMARY:Dancing Rock 12.5k / 25k
DESCRIPTION:On Sunday\, December 22\, at 8:00 a.m.\, get ready to run a very special course—The Dancing Rock Run. This course revives a race created by Tony Godino and Dave Cope around the time the Loop was invented over 30 years ago. Originally\, racers would complete one clockwise loop followed by a counterclockwise loop for a total distance of 25k. No one really knows why the race never caught on but it’s an awesome course. Start at 8:00 a.m. and complete one 12.5k loop (the 8 mile orange loop in the map) or make it a double for a 25k run. Note: the trail near Michigan Road (often called the “Swamp Trail”) is passable. You might get your shoes wet and muddy\, but considering how cold it will be\, it’s likely to be frozen solid.  \n\nRookie Runners start at 7:00 for a shorter course and an easier pace.
