Dave Mann has reserved the Hemlock North Campsite for us for the evening so come prepared to run\, then sit back and chill at the campfire afterward. Park at the pool lot and walk over to the Hemlock North campsite. We’ll start the run a little before sunset (sun sets at 7:30) tracing the 2018 Sarah Bishop course. The moon will be a waning crescent and will set just before sundown so this night run will be a dark one. Registration for the 8th Annual Kisco 5k and Kids Mad Dash presented by CrossFit Mount Kisco on September 19\, 2021\, is NOW OPEN!   Once again\, the race will take place the same weekend as Mount Kisco’s SeptemberFest  (9/17–9/19). A true family event\, the 5k and Kids Mad Dash will kick off the final day of the weekend-long festivities\, including Shop Local sidewalk sales\, a vibrant carnival\, eclectic food court and beer garden\, as well as lots of outstanding entertainment. \nWith over 700 participants in the last (pre-pandemic) 5k and Kids Mad Dash\, the race has become a beloved Village event. The Kisco 5k brings the community together one mile at a time. Whether they are running\, cheering or a race day sponsor\, neighbors\, friends\, community organizations and local businesses are able to celebrate Mount Kisco with a fun-filled morning of activity. \nEnthusiastic participants and generous sponsors\, have allowed the Kisco 5k to be a successful and thriving community event. As a result\, Kisco Run has been able to donate thousands of dollars in proceeds to local charities and organizations. It is a great mix of fire road\, single track\, flats\, hills\, and one fast downhill section right towards the end. Park at the Ridgebury School\, Ridgefield\, CT and walk over the Serfilippi Field\, ready to run at 7:30 a.m. Looking for a longer run? Make it a double. This year’s race includes a double loop starting at 6:30 a.m. The course is marked with flags but you might want to bring a map anyway. Feeling a Little Blue?\nCome out and cheer everyone on or head over to the Rez\, Kimberly Bridge Lot\, at 8:00 a.m. and run the Blueathlon. What’s that you ask? See how many blue hill repeats you can run. The turnaround is marked by a stake about .6 miles and 400 feet of gain from the start of the blue trail. Or if you want a more civilized run\, try the Kimberly Blue Route. DESCRIPTION:This Saturday\, September 11\, at 7:00 a.m\, meet at the Zofnass Family Preserve on Upper Shad Road in Pound Ridge (see Google Map) when we take a break from our epic Saturday runs and run everyone’s favorite labyrinthian preserve with a network of trails noted for its crags and rock outcrops. Meet at the main entrance and we’ll follow a perimeter loop making all right turns except for exiting the park. We’ll make a 6-mile loop counter-clockwise around the preserve this time excluding the orange\, western loop. DESCRIPTION:This Sunday\, September 5\, at 8:00 a.m.\, meet at Ward Pound Ridge Reservation\, Meadow lot\, when we run the Meadow to Rock Trail Loop\, v2. We’ll head south from the meadow heading up the CB trail (like the old Raven Rocks course) and make one of three loops before returning via FH\, the Magic Stairs\, and Trailside Museum. In between\, you’ll see Dancing Rock\, Bear Rock Petroglyph\, Spy Rock\, the Stairs\, Castle Rock\, Raven Rocks\, Indian Rock Shelter\, and plenty more rocks along the way. If you’re looking for something less ambitious\, there are 4 and 6-mile loops as well. SUMMARY:KMA to Hunt-Parker
DESCRIPTION:On Saturday\, September 4\, at 7:00 a.m.\, meet at Reservoir Road in Katonah\, behind the Katonah Museum of Art\, ready to run the KMA to Hunt-Parker 7 mile course. This run starts on dirt roads\, crosses the Cross River Dam\, and heads over to Hunt-Parker—home of the Bedford Audubon Society—with a variety of trails including single-track and open field running. We’re not follow the course exactly\, though\, and stay on the Blue trail and turn on the White trails so we can see some trails we haven’t been on.
