SUNDAY, MEADOW LOT
On Sunday, January 19, at 8:00 a.m., meet at Ward Pound Ridge Reservation ready to run the Snowy Owl Run. This course is almost the same as the Raven Rocks run but starts with a climb up FH then down the CB trail—and everyone loves a good climb at the start, right? Looks like we’ll have snow on Saturday and rain Saturday night so conditions will likely be slippery. Might be a good idea to throw your winter running gear in the car. Anyone who wants to start early can arrive at 5:00 for 8 miles and 7:00 for an additional 4. See the map ››
SATURDAY, TRAILSIDE MUSEUM
On Saturday, January 18, at 7:00 a.m., meet at Ward Pound Ridge Reservation, Trailside Museum, when we run the 7 mile Museum to Blue route. We’ll run this in a clockwise direction, opposite the arrows on the map, and running through the field to get to Kimberly Bridge. It looks like the snow will hold off and start after the run but bundle up, it should be in the teens when we start.
Check out the winter running tips page for useful info on running in snow and ice. If we have 4 inches of snow and some rain on top of that, you might want to bring your microspikes or winter shoes. Hope to see you out there this weekend.
Lee Willett
Another big group on the Rock Trail this past Sunday in springlike temps. We’ll be back in the Rez next weekend for some “real” winter running.
