Maybrook Traverse 23 mile point-to-point
The Maybrook Traverse follows the old Brewster train line from Brewster to Hopewell Junction. The original “Beacon Line” title reflected the name MNR has used for several decades to identify the rail line running from the City of Beacon to Hopewell Junction to Brewster to the Connecticut state line. A section of the trail east of Brewster has been paved and the intent is to pave the entire length of the trail as a way to connect the Putnam Trailway with the Dutchess Trailway as part of the Empire State Trailway system. Since the posting of this run, the path has largely been paved and is now a multi-use trailway. That said, there is still the original tracks that run along side so you have the option of running this as a different kind of trail. Learn more about the project here ››
