Coronavirus Alert Info: given the current circumstances, group running is not recommended (ie, downwind aerosolized particulate, people breathing heavily right in front of you, the occasional misdirected snot rocket, etc.). Attending a group run is a risky proposition—do not attend if you want to stay 100% safe. That said, for anyone who does come, I’d suggest that we take precautions. Keep a wider distance between you and other runners before, during, and after the run, break into individual and small groups and run different routes, wear a buff around your nose and mouth, and run abreast rather than ahead wherever possible.
SUNDAY: MICHIGAN ROAD
On Sunday, March 15, at 8:00 a.m., if you’re not self-quarantining, then meet at Ward Pound Ridge Reservation, Michigan Road Lot, ready to run the Gerrython. Since the New York half marathon has been canceled, I’ll give you the option of your own half marathon with a modified perimeter loop. You also have options for a 10 mile, 7 mile, and 5 mile loop as well so you can take different trails and run different directions to minimize potential virus exposure. Early risers can start at 5:00 and head over to Kimberly Bridge for a few blue hill repeats or at 7:00 for a loop of the Red trail. As always, Rookie Runners start at 7:00.
SATURDAY: Meadow Lot
On Saturday, March 14, at 7:00 a.m., meet at Ward Pound Ridge Reservation, Meadow lot, ready to run the Meadow Multiloop. This course gives you options for distances from 2 to 11 miles and can be run in either direction so as to minimize potential virus exposure.
Congratulations to Veronica for completing the Chattanooga 100—3rd woman, 17th overall. Well done. Hope to see you out there this weekend.
