SUNDAY: TRAILSIDE MUSEUM
On Sunday, March 22, between 7:00 and 8:00 a.m., meet at Ward Pound Ridge Reservation, Trailside Museum Lot, ready to run the Trailside Multiloop. This course offers a variety of distances from 2 to 13 miles and can be run in either clockwise or counterclockwise direction. To minimize the risk of spreading coronavirus by keeping to relatively small groups, arrive anytime between 7:00 and 8:00 a.m., take a map, and get running. Those looking to start early can arrive at 5:00 a.m. and finish the perimeter loop before 8:00.
SATURDAY: MEADOW LOT
On Saturday, March 21, between 7:00 and 7:30, meet at Ward Pound Ridge Reservation, Meadow Lot, ready to run the Meadow Half Marathon. You have options for distances from 4.5 to 13.1 miles (by combining the two longest loops) and the course can be run in either direction. To minimize the risk of spreading coronavirus by keeping to relatively small groups, arrive anytime between 7:00 and 7:30 a.m., take a map, and get running.
Coronavirus Info: given the current circumstances, group running is not recommended (ie, downwind aerosolized particulate, people breathing heavily right in front of you, the occasional misdirected snot rocket, etc.). Attending a group run is a risky proposition—do not attend if you want to stay 100% safe. That said, for anyone who does come, I’d suggest that we take precautions. Keep a wider distance between you and other runners before, during, and after the run, break into individual and small groups and run different routes, wear a buff around your nose and mouth, and run abreast rather than ahead wherever possible. Great seeing so many out this past Sunday. I know that it’s great to be able to spend time on the trails when so much is going on in our lives. I look forward to running with you through these times and hope that with precautions, we’ll be able to remain healthy.
