It felt great to bet back on the trails and see many familiar faces. I hope to see more out there next weekend.
New York’s Mid-Hudson region has entered Phase I of reopening.
While there are no specific guidelines covering trail running, we will continue to practice safe social distancing to protect ourselves and our communities. I won’t be taking any group photos for a while so runners can start running their choice of courses when they arrive. Keep to solo running or small groups and, please follow these guidelines:
- Maintain social distancing before, during, and after the run
- Run abreast where possible to keep out of each other’s slipstreams
- Stagger start times, courses, and directions to maintain smaller groups
- Wear masks or buffs/neck gaiters when in the parking lots and when you see others on the trail even if they don’t do the same. Let’s show the community that we want to keep the trails a respectful and safe space for all.
With these precautions, I’m hoping we can all stay healthy.

Green Rock Trail

On Saturday, June 6, at 7:00 a.m., meet at Ward Pound Ridge Reservation, Michigan Road lot, ready to run the Green Rock Trail course which includes the Overlook, Spy Rock, the Stairs, and Raven Rocks. Options include 4, 6.5, 7.5, and 8.5 mile course and you can run this in either direction. There's a fair amount of hills so you have been warned.

Trailside to Tower

On Sunday, June 7, at 8:00 a.m., meet at Ward Pound Ridge Reservation, Trailside Museum lot, when we run the Trailside to Tower loop. Options include 5, 6, 7, and 9 miles and the course can be run in either direction. The early crew can arrive at 7:00 for a 4-mile loop. Rookie Runners can arrive at 7:00 for a shorter and easier route. Anyone who wants to run separately can grab a map from the back of my car any time between 7:00 and 8:00.
