On Memorial Day, Monday, May 30, at 7:00 a.m., meet at Michigan Road Lot to test yourself and find out who’s going to get the crown on one counterclockwise loop of Red. It’s simple. 5.32 miles. The current course records are 36:09 for Chris Irwin and 41:50 for Julie Piddington although the competition for the leaderboards is fierce. No cost to enter. No flags on the course. No prize money. Just bragging rights if you’re able to take the crown.
While there will be bragging rights for who finishes first on the day, the real test is who claims the top of the Leaderboard so watch Strava afterward as runners post their runs. The official loop starts and ends past the gate (see the segment) but depending on how many are running, you’ll be starting on the asphalt.

Alternatively, if you’re not interested in racing, we could run a course that will take us to Raven Rocks and then the “secret overlook” which has the best view of the morning sun. No prizes for that either, just some nice views.
