SUNDAY: TRAILSIDE MUSEUM
On Sunday, September 22, at 8:00 a.m., meet at Ward Pound Ridge Reservation, Trailside Museum Lot, ready to run the Trailside to Tower Loop. The Lewisboro Horseman’s Association has its Fall Country Pace event in the Rez on Sunday so they’re going to be using trails on the Western portion of the park after 9:00 a.m. They’re route will be from the Meadow to Schoolhouse Road, LL and Red/Green to Michigan, and then FH to the Meadow. If you see a horse, give it the right of way. Our course will take you up FH and then follow some of the lesser-used trails in the park. It’s the perfect training run for next week’s Sarah Bishop Bushwhack. If you’re interested in starting early, Jeff and I will begin at 4:00 with loops of the Red Trail from Michigan Road then head over to the Trailside Museum before 8:00. We’d love to have company out there.
SATURDAY: BENNETT’S POND
On Saturday, September 21 at 7:00 a.m., we’ll be meeting to run a new 7 mile course at Bennett’s Pond—the Overlook Loop. This new course takes us on a counterclockwise loop to the overlook and back. Along the way, you’ll get to try out the new Ridge trail we found last weekend and then plunge down the red trail which many of you haven’t seen yet. If you want to start early, arrive at 6:00 for a few extra miles. After the run, Sunday Run regular, Teren, will bring some trailhead treats for us so we can hang out a bit though she asks everyone to bring their own mugs. Later in the day, head over to listen to Scott Jurek at Ridgefield Library.
Sarah Bishop is Almost Here
Next week we’ll be at Mountain Lakes Park for the 7th Annual Sarah Bishop Bushwhack. We’re really excited this year to introduce a new course with more bushwhack than ever! You’ve gotta sign up to be in the running.
Hope to see you out there this weekend.
Great to see you all at Where the Pavement Ends and nice to see the cupcakes you won. Sarah Bishop is coming up so get registered for that soon.
