This Sunday, June 25, at 8:00 a.m., meet at the Nature Conservancy Butler Sanctuary on Chestnut Ridge Road in Mt. Kisco (see in Google maps) when we run a combination of trails covering most of the park. Since Butler is a relatively small preserve, we’ll be following a double loop course to get to 5ish miles. Don’t worry, you’ll still get a workout since the terrain has a lot of ups and downs. Plus anyone interested in a longer run can head over to the Meyer Preserve and to Westmoreland Sanctuary afterwards for a few more miles. Meet in the Butler parking lot. See the map here ›› Looking to start early? Arrive at 5:00 a.m. and join me on a run from Butler to Meyer preserve. We’ll return at 7:00 a.m. for a short loop of Westmoreland.

This Saturday, June 24, at 7:00 a.m., let’s get back to those hill repeats from Kimberly Bridge. Come for as many or as few as you’d like then head out on the trails when you’ve had enough.

Next Saturday, July 1, I’m planning on running part of the Escarpment course. Let me know if you’re interested.

Hope to see you out there this weekend.

This Sunday, November 15, at 9:00 a.m., be ready for the inaugural Raven Rocks Run—10(ish) kilometers of challenging trails in Ward Pound Ridge Reservation full of great views, rocky climbs, ridgeline paths, meadows, ravines and the site of the former fire tower. Arrive at the meadow parking lot by 8:15 a.m. and visit RavenRocksRun.org for answers to any last-minute questions. See the map here ››

Next week we’ll be off the reservation at Leonard Park in Mt. Kisco for the multi-park run of up to 13 miles. Tony and I need to make sure the path is clear so this is subject to change. We’re also working on a night run soon so keep your Friday nights clear.

Hope to see you this weekend.

October 5, Michigan Road Lot

Sunday, October 5 *new start times*
This Sunday, meet at Ward Pound Ridge Michigan Road Lot when we run the most ambitious run we’ve made to date—the Michigan Road Gerrython. Gerry Sullivan has lent his considerable expertise in creating a 13-mile loop that includes some of the toughest trails in the Reservation. But because the Lewisboro Horseman’s Association has scheduled a meet at the Meadow lot, I’ve had to modify that course somewhat but the result is just as epic. Here are your options:

6:45 a.m. Start—10 Mile Loop
Joe and Heather are going to start out early with the 10 mile loop in blue. They’ll start at Michigan Road and head toward the meadow before turning south to the Overlook and Raven Rocks. If you’re planning on starting early, wear bright clothing—dear season is open.

6:45 a.m. Start—5 Mile Loop
I’ll be at Michigan Road to run the 5-mile loop in red on the map. We’ll start the same way as above but return after the Overlook. I’ll be leaving promptly at 6:45 so that I’ll be back before 8:00 so arrive early prepared to run.

8:00 a.m. Start—7 or 13 Mile Loop
At 8:00, we’ll all start the same direction toward the Meadow but follow the course through the field to avoid the horses. Those running the 13-mile course will follow Brown to FH while those running the shorter loop will follow the river to Kimberly Bridge. Since the two courses overlap, you may see other runners along the way depending on speed.

Next week we’ll be at Muscoot Farm for the only course check of the Run the Farm race.

Hope to see you out there this weekend.

Saturday, November 16, 8:00 a.m.
If you’re interested in an additional run this weekend, meet at Mountain Lakes Park (201 Hawley Road, North Salem, NY) at the trailhead to Lookout Point and run the Sarah Bishop Bushwhack course. Instead of starting at the race start, though, we’ll be starting from the Kids’ Start on the map  and completing the 10K course from there. Should be a lot of fun. And if you can’t make it in the morning, Mark Vincent will be running the course at 2:30 on Saturday as well so you have another chance for a great run.

There you have it—two days, three runs, and a host of great options through six different parks this weekend. Hope to see you out there.
