SUNDAY: SARAH BISHOP BUSHWHACK
Sunday, Septemer 29, at 9:00 a.m. is the 7th annual Sarah Bishop Bushwhack, a challenging 10K (ish) trail race featuring the highest peak in Westchester, Bailey Mountain, and beautiful views of Lookout Point, Spruce Lake, and Hemlock Lake. Meet at Mountain Lakes Park (201 Hawley Road, North Salem, New York 10560) before 9:00 a.m. ready to run. We’ve made changes to the course this year that make it even better—we’ve almost totally eliminated the gravel road and we’ve added more bushwhack than ever. We can’t wait for you to race it! Same day registration will be available if you want to bring a last-minute friend. Register ››
SATURDAY: LEWISBORO TOWN PARK
On Saturday, September 28, at 7:00 a.m., meet at Lewisboro Town Park, Upper Lot, when we run some trails most of you haven’t seen. We’ll head across Route 35 to Old Field Preserve and run the trails there heading first toward Schoolhouse Road, then heading behind the Wolf Conservation Center and ending at the double-secret FAA beacon. We haven’t been on these trails for months since they were pretty marshy in the spring but I’m hoping that will the dry weather we’ve had, they’ll be navigable. The total run should be about 5.5 miles and the wolves have been howling in the mornings lately so I think this is a great chance for an adventure. Once we return, we’ll make a loop around the Town Park pond and follow the Blue Trail into the Rez. At that point I have some work to do at Mountain Lakes and will return but anyone who wants to continue into the Rez can and extend the run as long as they’d like.
Hope to see you out there this weekend.

Nice group this past Sunday at Trailside museum. Definitely feeling like fall out on the trails, thankfully.
